The Otago Central Rail Trail starts (or ends) just 200m from the Middlemarch Holiday Park.
The Strath Taieri Hotel is an easy five minute walk for dinner.
For a delicious breakfast or lunch The Kissing Gate café serves great food and is within walking distance.
Maggies store is also within walking distance for an ice cream or basic groceries.

Middlemarch Holiday Park is a great place to stay. The units are very comfortable. My daughter and son loved playing on the swings and spent a lot of time hanging out in the train carriage/kitchen! We'll be back at Christmas.

Middlemarch Holiday Park is the biggest accomodation provider in Middlemarch with all the things you would expect in a camping ground type set up ranging from tent sites through to motel units. It is about 3 minutes walk from the town centre and about the same distance from the start of the Central Otago Rail Trail.

There is a daily bus service from Queenstown via Cromwell and Alexandra to Middlemarch, or alternatively you could charter a scenic flight from Queenstown/Wanaka. The Central Otago Rail Trail operates from Clyde to Middlemarch and you can hire bikes and all the equipment from either the Clyde or Middlemarch end.
Middlemarch is one hour drive from Dunedin City on State Highway 87 via Mosgiel and Outram. The Taieri Gorge Train also departs daily from the Dunedin Railway Station.
